Title: Do discbound pages wear out if you move them around a lot?
Post by: deskdrawer on Oct 18, 2026, 05:33 AM
I like the idea of being able to rearrange pages in a discbound planner, but I wonder how well the punched edges hold up over time.

If you move the same pages around regularly, do they eventually become loose or start tearing?

I've thought about keeping frequently used pages together to avoid taking them off the discs so often, but that rather defeats the point of having a flexible system. Interested to hear how they hold up with everyday use.

The strain is more likely to come from taking pages off and putting them back on than from ordinary page-turning. Remove a page from one disc at a time rather than tugging at one corner; that should be gentler on the punched edges.

I'd treat the punched edge as a wear point rather than expect it to stay pristine indefinitely. If there's an important page you rearrange often, keep a spare and use that one to save wear on the original.
