Title: Journaling more during a rough patch isn't always helpful

I don't think feeling worse automatically means you need to write more. When a week is already draining most of my energy, a big journal entry can feel like another task I'm failing to keep up with. A few plain lines, or leaving the journal shut, seems more realistic than treating a full page as proof I'm coping.

If I've written three versions of the same worry and still feel stuck, I'd probably stop there. Filling the rest of the page isn't going to help just because it's blank.

That clarifying-versus-looping check is useful. When I catch myself circling, I write one line about what can wait, then shut the book. No need to submit a polished report on a bad day.
