I can remember the regular collection days, but the less frequent recycling categories still catch me out. I usually end up checking the local calendar with the item already in my hand, which is a silly little annoyance. I don't want to build a whole tracking system for taking something out once in a while.

Maybe a simple phone reminder for the less frequent categories is enough. You could set a day-before alert for those dates and leave the regular pickups alone.

A small card by the bin with just the next less frequent collection dates keeps it simple. Cross each one off, then update it when you check the council calendar.
