Anyone printed a test run before binding a custom planner?

I've been looking at custom planner layouts, and I'm wondering how often something that looks good on screen turns out to be awkward once it's printed.

I'd be tempted to print just a couple of weeks first, rather than commit to binding the whole thing. Especially to check whether there's actually enough writing space and how much of the page disappears near the binding.

Has anyone caught a layout problem this way before printing the full planner?

A short test run can catch layout issues, but print it at 100% with "fit to page" off. Scaling can make the writing space and margins look different from the finished planner.

A loose printout won't show the full effect of the binding. Fasten a few sheets the way you plan to bind them, then try writing near the spine; the usable inner margin can feel quite different once the pages are held together.

A short test print is useful for that, especially as consecutive pages printed double-sided like the finished planner. You can check the page order and whether each weekly spread lands where you expect as you turn through it.
