What matters most for pen comfort over a long writing session?

I've started taking longer notes with a fountain pen, and I'm noticing the grip shape more than I used to. I haven't worked out whether weight or balance matters just as much, but a pen that feels fine for a few lines might feel different after a page. What do you notice first?

Grip diameter and shape are what I notice first, especially if they make my fingers pinch. Weight and balance become clearer over a page; trying the pen posted and unposted can change how it sits in the hand.

I notice if I start pressing harder or tightening my grip as I write. Staying relaxed through a page matters more to me than feeling comfortable for the first few lines.

I pay attention to how it writes, too. If the nib catches or needs pressure to keep going, my hand starts working harder, even when the grip feels fine.

The first thing I notice is whether the pen keeps shifting or rolling in my fingers. Those little grip adjustments add up over a page, even if the weight seemed fine at first.
