A weekly study list needs actual work sessions

I can color-code the week and still have no idea when I'm actually studying. I'm trying to schedule actual study sessions and break bigger assignments into concrete next steps, instead of just marking deadlines. Which part of a weekly planner helps you do that: time slots, task space, or room to split up projects?

Time slots and task space work together for me: the block says when, and the task beside it says what fits. "Outline two sections" is actionable; "work on the paper" is a vague ambition that just happens to have a time slot.

I put fixed commitments in first and leave one open block for catch-up instead of filling every gap with study. If a session runs long, the whole week doesn't immediately feel off track.
