A planner's cover makes a first impression before the pages do

It's funny how much a planner cover can change the impression of what's inside. Someone could have a cover full of stickers and charms but use the simplest possible weekly layout. I don't think the outside needs to match how organised or complicated the planning system is.

I wouldn't read too much into the cover. Discs can be there because someone wants to move pages around, not because they're building a sticker museum. Whether the cover holds up to being hauled around and the pages are usable tells me more than how decorative it looks.

Removable stickers are a cheaper way to change up the outside too, especially when a new cover colourway catches your eye!

Do removable stickers peel off cleanly on most cover materials? I'd worry about residue, so I'd test one somewhere inconspicuous first.

It depends on the finish. Glossy hard covers are generally less concerning, while soft-touch or textured ones can hold onto adhesive or have the finish lift. If you use a sticker, peel it slowly back over itself rather than pulling straight up.

With ring planners, practical details show up quickly: a closure catching on the rings or a cover that won't stay open gets in the way every time you use it.
